Learn alongside

a real community

Participants in the Pro-Housing Leadership Certification Course come from many backgrounds, including community members, students, advocates, and housing professionals.

This course is built around shared learning, conversation, and care. When you enroll, you’re joining a cohort that supports one another in understanding the housing crisis and advocating for change.

About the Course

The Pro-Housing Leadership Certification Course is a 6-week, live, interactive program designed to help people understand why Los Angeles has a housing crisis and how to advocate for solutions that expand housing at all levels of affordability while strengthening renters’ rights.

This Spring 2026 cohort is the fourth run of the course, building on lessons learned from past cohorts and updated to reflect current housing policy, organizing strategies, and on-the-ground realities in Los Angeles. While the course is not offered every year, each iteration is intentionally redesigned to deepen clarity, accessibility, and impact.

The course is led by Abundant Housing LA’s Education & Events team and draws from housing history, land use policy, development economics, climate considerations, and advocacy practice. The goal is not to turn participants into experts overnight, but to help people feel confident explaining the housing crisis, grounded in facts and context, and prepared to engage in policy conversations and public processes.

Participants come from many backgrounds, including renters and homeowners, students, advocates, housing professionals, and people who are simply trying to better understand the systems shaping where they live.
